I'll write more about it when I've read more of it. I learned a heap (especially in terms of motivation, and some survival-related facts also) just from flicking through it for ten minutes in the bookshop.
ARK PRIMAL SURVIVAL AND PRIMITIVE PLUS MANUAL
It's more of a biographical/story styled book than a how-to manual as such, but it contains a massive amount of how-to information. He gives many examples of people and of entire cultures (such as the traditional culture of Kenya) who learned to develop "The Art of Resilience".

It also gives a huge amount of background information on how to train your body to be strong and fit (that's an understatement). This is a truly amazing book, which tells the story of the first person to swim all the way around Great Britain.
